What an Alarm Service Involves

A security system is only as good as its last service. Over time, sensors drift, backup batteries lose their charge, and older panels fall behind the way alarms are monitored today. A regular service check keeps small issues from becoming a system that fails when you actually need it.

When we service your alarm, we work through the whole system rather than just the part that is playing up, and give you a clear picture of what is healthy, what is ageing, and what is worth upgrading before it lets you down.

What We Check During Your Service

Panel, Keypad & Sensors

We test the panel and keypad and check every sensor and detector, so nothing is quietly failing without you knowing.

Backup Battery & Power

We confirm the backup battery still holds charge, the most common cause of a system beeping or dropping out during a power cut.

Siren & Monitoring Comms

We verify the siren and strobe, and make sure the system is communicating properly with your monitoring station.

Alarm Repairs: Common Faults We Sort Out

Most alarm repairs come down to a handful of recurring faults, and all of them are fixable. We repair alarm systems from any installer, so you do not need to have bought the system from us to book an alarm repair in Perth.

False Alarms

From ageing or dusty sensors, insects, or incorrect zone settings, frustrating for you and costly if they trigger a monitored response.

Backup Battery Failure

The single most common cause of a system beeping, dropping out during a power cut, or reporting a fault.

Ageing Control Panels

Panels that are slow, unreliable, or no longer supported by the manufacturer.

NBN & 3G Transition

Older alarms that dialled out over a phone line or the retired 3G network can no longer reach monitoring and need a comms upgrade.

If your alarm is beeping, showing a fault, or simply not giving you confidence, a service visit gets to the cause rather than guessing.

How Often Should an Alarm Be Serviced?

As a general rule, a security alarm benefits from a service check at least once a year, and sooner if it is monitored, protects a business, or is more than a few years old. Regular servicing also keeps a monitored system compliant with what most insurers and monitoring stations expect.

Switching Your Monitoring to Rest-A-Sured

If your alarm was installed by another company, or you have inherited a system with a property, you are not locked in. We can take over the servicing and connect your existing alarm to our grade-1 monitoring station, one of the largest independently owned monitoring operations in WA, running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In most cases there is no need to rip out and replace a working system. We assess what you have, upgrade the communications or components where needed, and bring it across.

Alarm Service and Maintenance FAQs

My alarm keeps beeping, what does that mean?

A constant or intermittent beep is almost always a fault warning, and the most common cause is a backup battery that has reached the end of its life. It can also signal a communications or power issue. A service visit identifies the exact cause rather than just silencing it.

Do you service alarms you did not install?

Yes. We service, maintain and upgrade systems installed by other providers, and can take over monitoring on most existing alarms.

My alarm used to call a phone line or 3G, is that a problem?

It can be. Alarms that relied on a landline or the retired 3G network may no longer reach their monitoring station and need a communications upgrade to stay effective. We can assess and upgrade the comms without replacing the whole system where possible.

Do you cover regional WA?

Yes. We service Perth metro plus rural and regional WA, including areas many city-based installers will not travel to.
