Rest-A-Sured Security is a WA owned and operated security company, based in Wangara, that designs, supplies and installs CCTV and security camera systems for homes and businesses across Perth and regional Western Australia. We have been in the security industry since 1998 and hold security licence 09458. This page is mostly about CCTV for homes: residential CCTV for a suburban house, a family home or a large rural property. For warehouses, retail, offices and other business premises, see commercial CCTV installation. Either way, our team plans camera coverage around how the property is actually used, then installs, tests and hands the system over with training included.

As a WA owned and operated security company, established in 1998, we understand the conditions Perth and regional properties face, from opportunistic break ins to after hours access on commercial and industrial sites. We are affiliated with one of the largest independently owned grade 1 monitoring stations in WA, so a new CCTV installation can be tied into 24/7 monitoring whenever you want that extra layer of cover.

Every CCTV camera installation we run in Perth starts the same way: understanding the site, then recommending camera placement, resolution and storage that suit that property, not a one size fits all package. If you are comparing CCTV installers in Perth, this page covers what is included, how the process works, and who we install for.

What is included

What Your CCTV and Security Camera Installation Includes

Camera Selection & Placement

We walk the property with you to identify blind spots, entry points and high value areas, then recommend camera types and positions that give genuine coverage rather than just ticking a box. Every CCTV camera installation we quote is supply and installation together, so the cameras, recorder, cabling and labour are in one price rather than split across suppliers. Our CCTV installers are licensed and WA based, and we cover the Perth metro area and regional WA.

Recording & Storage

Footage is recorded to a dedicated recorder sized to your property and retention needs, so you have usable evidence on hand if an incident ever needs reviewing.

Remote Viewing & Integration

Most systems we install support remote viewing from your phone, and can be integrated with your existing alarm system or access control for a single, joined up security setup.

Why install CCTV

Benefits of Installing Security Cameras on Your Perth Property

01

Visible Deterrence

Most break ins in Perth are opportunistic. Well placed security cameras at the driveway, side access and rear of a property make it obvious the site is covered, and an intruder looking for an easy target moves on.

02

Footage You Can Actually Use

Cameras are only worth having if the footage identifies someone. We specify resolution and positioning so number plates and faces are readable at the distances that matter, and we show you how to export a clip for WA Police or an insurer.

03

Workplace Safety and Compliance

For businesses, CCTV supports safer work practices as well as security. Cameras can be positioned to confirm PPE is being worn in a workshop or a busy commercial yard, to review how an incident happened, and to check that site procedures are being followed.

04

Check In From Anywhere

Being able to open your phone and see the house, the yard or the workshop settles most worries in seconds, whether you are at work, away for the weekend or interstate. If something does happen, you know before you get home.

Who we protect

Who We Install CCTV and Security Cameras For

Residential Properties

From a single family home to a large rural property, we scale each home CCTV installation around the layout and risk profile of the site. See our residential security systems for how CCTV fits alongside alarms and monitoring.

Commercial & Business Sites

Offices, warehouses, retail and industrial sites need wider coverage and often integration with access control. Read more about commercial security systems and our access control systems for sites that need both.

Strata & Body Corporate

Shared driveways, car parks and common areas are exactly where CCTV earns its keep. Our strata security systems service covers CCTV as part of a wider building security package.

For homes

Home CCTV Installation Perth

Residential CCTV, domestic CCTV and home security cameras are the same job under different names. We supply and install the cameras, recorder and cabling as one price, for homes across the Perth metro area and regional WA.

Most home CCTV systems cover the same few places: the front door, the driveway, the side access, the back yard and the garage. Those are the ways in, and they are where a camera has to identify a face or read a number plate rather than just show movement.

Most systems we install can be watched live and played back on your phone, so you can check the house from work, a weekend away or interstate. At handover we show you how to export a clip for WA Police or your insurer.

Home security cameras work best alongside an alarm. We install both, and the cameras can be linked to your alarm and to 24/7 monitoring, so when the alarm is activated the control room can check the cameras before responding. See the home security systems and burglar alarm systems we install. Our installations come with a 2 year warranty.

Camera types

Security Cameras We Install

We choose each camera for the position it covers. These are the types we install most.

01

Cabled IP Cameras (PoE)

We usually fit cabled PoE cameras rated IP66 or better. One network cable carries power and video back to the recorder. IP66 means the housing is sealed against dust and strong jets of water, which matters on an outside wall in Perth.

02

Dome and Turret Cameras

Fixed dome and turret cameras cover a set view from an eave, a ceiling or a wall. They suit front doors, driveways, shopfronts and indoor areas.

03

Varifocal and PTZ Cameras

A varifocal lens is adjusted to frame a gate or doorway further away. A PTZ (pan, tilt and zoom) camera can be moved and zoomed to follow activity across a large yard or car park.

04

Number Plate (ANPR) Cameras

For driveways, gates, car parks and boom gates, ANPR cameras read and log number plates.

05

Cloud-Managed CCTV

We also install cloud-managed CCTV from Verkada, Vortex and Ubiquiti, which is run and viewed through the cloud rather than only from a recorder on site. It can suit businesses that want several sites in one place.

06

Solar and 4G Cameras for Remote Sites

On regional sites without mains power, solar CCTV cameras can run standalone, recording on site with remote access over 4G. See regional installations.

Recording and remote viewing

Recording, Storage and Viewing on Your Phone

Cabled cameras record to a network video recorder (NVR) on site, sized to the number of cameras and how long you want to keep footage. For larger sites we set up video management software from Milestone, Hanwha or Geutebrück.

There is no standard recording period. How long footage is kept depends on how many cameras there are, their resolution and frame rate, how busy the scene is, and whether the system records all the time or only on motion. We size the storage to the retention you need.

Most systems we install can be viewed live and played back on your phone, and you can export a clip when footage needs to go to WA Police or an insurer. Linked to your alarm, the same cameras let the 24/7 control room check what set the alarm off.

Our process

Our Process: From Consultation to Installation

Site Assessment

We walk the property, in person or working from your plans, to map entry points, blind spots and the areas that matter most to you, noting anything that could affect camera placement such as lighting or existing cabling.

Quote & System Design

You receive a plan built around that assessment, covering camera types, positions, recording capacity and how the system will integrate with any existing alarm or access control.

Professional Installation

Our technicians carry out the CCTV installation with minimal disruption to your home or business, running cabling neatly and mounting cameras where they were planned.

Handover & Training

We walk you through the system on site, including remote access on your phone, playback and exporting footage, so you are confident using it from day one.

Ongoing Support

Once installed, we offer monitoring and maintenance, service checks to keep the system operational, and upgrades and integration if you add cameras or alarm capability later.

Pricing

What Affects the Cost of CCTV Installation in Perth

No two properties are laid out or cabled the same way, so we quote every CCTV installation from the site itself rather than a price list. These are the things that move the price most.

01

Number of cameras

A four camera home system and a sixteen camera warehouse system are very different jobs. The count comes from what you need to see: entries, driveways, tills, stock areas and blind spots.

02

Camera type and resolution

Fixed dome and turret cameras cost less than varifocal, PTZ or number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras. Higher resolution and better low light performance cost more, and are worth it where you need to identify a face or a plate rather than just see movement.

03

Cabling and the building

Running cable is often the biggest part of the labour. A single storey home with roof space is quick. Double brick walls, multi-storey buildings and long runs across a yard or out to a gate take longer.

04

Recording and storage

The recorder and hard drive are sized to the number of cameras and how many days of footage you want to keep. More cameras at higher resolution over more days means more storage.

05

What is already there

Existing cabling or a recorder can sometimes be reused, which lowers the cost of an upgrade.

06

Optional extras

Remote viewing on your phone, 24/7 monitoring, and linking the cameras to an alarm or access control system all add to the price.

Every quote is supply and installation together, so the cameras, recorder, cabling and labour are in one price. Ask us for a free quote and we will tell you what your site needs.

Camera placement

Where to Put Security Cameras on Your Property

A good CCTV installation starts with camera placement, not just camera count. Garages, driveways, side access and loading areas are common blind spots we cover as standard, alongside the more obvious front door and perimeter positions. The goal is footage you can actually use, not just a wall of screens.

For a business, add the counter or till, stockrooms, loading docks, yards and car parks. We also note the lighting at each position at the site assessment, because it changes what a camera can see.

For businesses

CCTV for Business Premises

Warehouses, retail, offices, strata common areas, construction sites and petrol station forecourts need a different design from a house: more cameras, longer cable runs, work staged around trading hours, and cameras linked to access control and alarms. That work has its own page: commercial CCTV installation in Perth.

For a business alarm, see commercial alarm systems, and for the whole site, commercial security systems.

Keeping it working

CCTV Maintenance in Perth

A camera system is only worth what it records on the day you need it. Drives fill or fail, lenses lose focus or get dirty, firmware falls behind, and Perth heat and coastal salt take their own toll, and a camera knocked out of alignment by a delivery can sit pointing at a wall for months without anyone noticing. It is almost always discovered at the worst possible moment, which is when someone goes looking for footage that was never recorded.

Business CCTV maintenance keeps the system in the state you paid for. Cameras are checked, cleaned and re-aimed, recording and retention are confirmed against what you actually need to keep, firmware and passwords are brought up to date, and faults are found before the footage matters rather than after. If your alarm is with us as well, commercial CCTV maintenance in Perth can run alongside alarm service and maintenance on the same visit rather than as a second call-out.

Maintenance covers
  • Cameras checked, cleaned and re-aimed
  • Recording and retention confirmed
  • Firmware and passwords brought up to date
  • Faults found before the footage matters
Already have cameras?

Upgrading or Repairing an Existing CCTV System

If you already have cameras, a full replacement is not always needed. Existing cabling or a recorder can sometimes be reused, so an upgrade can mean replacing the cameras that no longer give usable footage, adding cameras where there are gaps, or setting the system up for viewing on your phone. There is more on upgrading an older camera system.

The faults we see most are a camera that has dropped offline, a recorder that has stopped recording or a hard drive that is full or failed, a lens that has lost focus, and a camera knocked out of alignment. Call us on 08 9309 9500 and we will get someone to the site.

For homes and businesses, a maintenance visit checks, cleans and re-aims the cameras, confirms recording and retention, and brings firmware and passwords up to date.

Where we work

Perth Metro and Regional WA

We carry out CCTV installation work across the Perth metro area, and we also travel to rural and regional WA where some competitors will not. Regional properties, from farms to remote commercial sites, often need weatherproof outdoor cameras and careful planning around connectivity, which our regional installations team factors in from the first site visit. From our base in Wangara we install CCTV across the metro area, including Joondalup, Wanneroo, Ellenbrook, Malaga, Osborne Park, Scarborough, West Perth and South Perth.

FAQs

CCTV Installation Perth: Frequently Asked Questions

Still have a question?Call the team, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.08 9309 9500

How long does a CCTV or security camera installation take?

It depends on the number of cameras, the cable runs involved and whether we are working around an occupied site. A straightforward residential system is a much shorter job than a multi camera commercial or industrial site that has to be staged around trading hours. We confirm the expected time on site as part of your quote, before any work is booked in, so there are no surprises on the day.

Can CCTV be monitored 24/7?

Yes. We are affiliated with one of the largest independently owned grade 1 monitoring stations in WA, so your CCTV installation can be connected to 24/7 monitoring if you want that extra layer of cover.

Can you integrate CCTV with my existing alarm system?

In most cases, yes. Upgrades and integration with an existing alarm system are part of what we offer, so a new CCTV installation does not have to mean starting from scratch.

Will I be able to view footage remotely?

Most systems we install support remote access and playback from your phone, so you can check in on the property whether you are at home, at work, or away.

Do you install CCTV outside the Perth metro area?

Yes. We cover rural and regional WA as well as Perth metro, including sites some competitors will not travel to. See our regional installations page for more detail.

What happens if my system needs attention after installation?

We offer monitoring and maintenance, along with service checks to keep your CCTV system operating as it should. If a camera drops offline or footage is not recording, call us on 08 9309 9500 and we will get someone to the site.

Is CCTV suitable for strata and body corporate properties?

Yes. Shared entries, car parks and common areas are common CCTV applications for strata properties, and it is often installed alongside wider building security measures. See our strata security systems page for more.

What warranty do you offer on a CCTV installation?

We offer a 2 year warranty on our installations.

How long will my CCTV system keep footage?

There is no standard figure. How long a recorder keeps footage depends on how many cameras it records, their resolution and frame rate, how busy the scene is, and whether it records all the time or only on motion. Call us on 08 9309 9500 and we can talk through what to expect for your site.

What type of cameras do you usually install?

We usually fit cabled (PoE) cameras rated IP66 or better.

How many security cameras does my property need?

Count the places you need to see: each entry door, the driveway, side access, the back yard and any gate, shed or garage. A business adds areas like the counter, stockroom, yard and loading dock. We work out the count at the site assessment from what you need to see, not from a package.

Can you upgrade my existing CCTV system?

Often, yes. Existing cabling or a recorder can sometimes be reused, so an upgrade can mean replacing the cameras that no longer give usable footage, adding cameras or setting the system up for viewing on your phone. We look at what is there at the site assessment and tell you what is worth keeping.

Do you install cloud CCTV?

Yes. As well as cabled systems that record to a recorder on site, we install cloud-managed CCTV from Verkada, Vortex and Ubiquiti, which is run and viewed through the cloud.

Can cameras go on a site with no mains power?

On regional and remote sites, solar-powered CCTV cameras can run standalone, recording on site with remote access over 4G. See our regional installations page.

How do I get started?

Contact our team on 08 9309 9500 or through our contact page, and we will arrange a site assessment as the first step.
